Had to get that out of the way early because whenever I critique an NHL goalie I get a bunch of comments and messages telling me I’m jealous. • I actually could care less about which goalie I’m talking about. I don’t play goalie anymore. I train athletes, coach goalies and study to be a doctor of PT. • Anyways, when I find too many goalies either don’t know, or struggle to enter the RVH from a butterfly overlap. • To be fair, it is probably the hardest skating movement a goalie has to do. • Just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be done. It means you need to work on it until you can do it correctly. • There’s no taking shortcuts in this game if you want to play at a high level. • Listen to the video for the break down.
