Episode Description
Summary
On today’s episode of Morning Cuppa Hockey, we break down the hottest stories around the NHL, starting with the Washington Capitals and their impressive start after a major offseason makeover.
With Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou and Boone Jenner joining a core led by Alex Ovechkin, Tom Wilson, Dylan Strome and Ryan Leonard, we discuss why the Capitals already look deeper, faster and more dangerous, whether Washington is once again a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference, and how their new additions are changing the identity of the team.
Then we’re joined by former Arizona Coyotes video coach Steve Peters to go around the league and break down the biggest early-season NHL storylines. We discuss what Mike Sullivan has changed with the New York Rangers, whether the Dallas Stars’ 0-2 start should be concerning, if the Colorado Avalanche are finally ready to put everything together, and what’s going wrong with the winless Philadelphia Flyers.
We also get into the Utah Mammoth, whether Dylan Guenther can reach 40 goals again, the early-season panic surrounding the Toronto Maple Leafs, what we’ve learned from Auston Matthews, Gavin McKenna and the Leafs through the first few games, and why the Anaheim Ducks continue to impress despite losing so much experience from their defence.
Plus, we react to more of the latest NHL news, NHL scores, NHL highlights, hockey analysis, trade talk and early-season storylines from around the league.
