Summary
The Tampa Bay Lightning head to Nashville for Halloween hockey, but the biggest story surrounding the team isn't on the ice. On today's Daily Strike, Steve Versnick breaks down reports that superstar Nikita Kucherov has informed the organization he will not sign a contract extension and has requested a trade. Following the reports, General Manager Julien BriseBois issued a strong statement, making it clear that the Lightning have "unequivocally" no intention of trading the franchise's all-time leading scorer. The news comes less than a week after Kucherov set the franchise points record in Utah. We also preview this afternoon's matchup against the Nashville Predators as the Lightning look to continue their strong start to the season. Tampa Bay enters the game with an 8-3-1 record, good for the third-best points percentage in the NHL, while Nashville is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Washington Capitals.
