Summary
Become a DIEHARD! alldlls.com/join The Dallas Stars have won four-straight games and will be looking to make it five wins in a row when they host Pete DeBoer and the New York Islanders this afternoon at American Airlines Center (5 p.m. CT). DeBoer returns to Dallas for the first time since he was fired as Stars head coach back in early June of 2025, following the team’s third consecutive series defeat in the Western Conference Final. Stars fans will vividly remember that dramatic scene in the first period of Game 5 of the 2025 WCF against Edmonton, where DeBoer awkwardly decided to pull starting goaltender Jake Oettinger after calling a timeout, but not telling Oettinger until he was skating back towards his crease. Then, DeBoer doubled down in his post game media scrum, basically blaming Oettinger for losing to the Oilers in back-to-back Conference Finals. DeBoer, who joined the Islanders with four games left in the regular season last year, has New York off to a decent start (5-3-2, 12 pts.) in their first 10 games, while the Stars have points in seven of their last eight games (6-1-1, 13 pts., 0.813). On today’s DLLS Stars Pregame Show, we will discuss all the big storylines, we will take a look at the expected lineups and get you ready for puck drop at American Airlines Center. Expected starting goaltenders: Jake Oettinger (DAL) vs. Ilya Sorokin (NYI).
