Summary
A fair amount of time in a game or practice, we skate with the puck towards the net, skates pointing straight ahead. Getting a shot off in this kind of situation is fairly easy.
But what if we receive the puck while our feet are not facing the goal? This could happen as a defender along the blue line, a flanker on the Power Play, or when you're skating up the boards and receive a pass to cut to the net. How do we shoot then?
The concept of getting around the puck while shooting allows you to really load up your shot while rotating your feet in the proper direction.
