When you begin playing sledge hockey, learning how to stop can be quite difficult and frustrating. It doesn't help if you are in a sled with a wide set of blades either, because when you begin you're just trying to figure out how to maneuver around the ice first. Once you have the hand/stick coordination down, the next thing you'll want to learn is how to turn and stop. In this video, Kevin Rempel and Claire Buchanan break down what the difference is in trying to learn how to stop with a wide set of blades (such as 3.5") and a narrow set of blades (such as 1").
