Episode Description
Summary
I've been seeing lately on social media a "new" kind of transition from forwards to backwards that's all the rage: the Step Back, Kick Back, Push Back...it has many different names.
A lot of coaches have touted it as the new way to do transitions, saying that the old way of kind of stopping into a transition and then crossing over backwards is obsolete. But is this really true? Or is a Step Back just something really trendy where everyone is jumping on the bandwagon without giving different situations in a hockey game much thought?
In this video, I show you the differences between a Step Back and a "normal" transition, where you can use them, and debate about if one is really "better" than the other.
