Summary
Recap: The Golden Knights were looking to win back-to-back home games with a victory over New Jersey on Nevada Day. The Devils answered early into the game off a turnover in Vegas zone. Moments later, Mark Stone evened the score on the power play with his 9th goal of the season. Ninety seconds later Ivan Barbashev scored his 2nd goal of the season to give Vegas a 2-1 lead. The Devils tied the game less than a minute later. After 20 minutes, the game was locked at 2-2. US Olympic hero Jack Hughes gave the Devils a 3-2 lead off a dazzling individual move past VGK defenders. Towards the end of the middle frame, the visitors followed their own rebound and took a 4-2 advantage into the second intermission. Vegas had several chances on net but newly acquired goaltender Connor Hellebuyck kept the puck out of New Jerseys net. With under three minutes left in the contest, the Devils scored an empty-net goal to seal the game. The Golden Knights record drops to 9-5-1, falling to the Devils 5-2 at T-Mobile Arena. Next up, Vegas will travel east for a four-game road trip beginning on Monday. Puck drop against the Boston Bruins is scheduled for 4 PM. (Recap by Jason) Analysis: The Devils have a habit of making teams look bad, and now with Connor Hellebuyck in the net, they can do it even more easily. Thats exactly what happened in this Nevada Day game. VGK had a nice stretch in the 1st period in which they scored a couple of goals, but from there it was not pretty. New Jerseys shot suppression machine worked incredibly well, and then a number of heroic plays by the Devils stars changed the game. VGK have lost 4 out of 5 and havent looked particularly good in the losses. (Analysis by Ken) Upcoming stories from the Vegas Golden Knights vs. New Jersey Devils at T-Mobile Arena. SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 31, 2026 Have not loved VGK's push back in this 3rd period. If you didn't know the score, you'd think it was NJD pushing for the tying goal. SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 31, 2026 The number of times Devils have skated directly around (or through) VGK players in the defensive zone is unbelievable today. It just keeps happening. 4-2 NJD SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 30, 2026 Marner hopped onto the ice on the change and McNabb saw him the whole way. Did so well to delay enough to hit the pass to him and Marner put a perfect pass to the front. Beautiful goal. VGK have turned this period around in a hurry. 2-1 SinBin.vegas (@SinBinVegas) October 30, 2026 The post NEW JERSEY DEVILS 5 VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS 2 (9-5-1, 19 PTS) appeared first on SinBin.vegas.
