At TCS Live 2026, Carolina Hurricanes Skills Coach Daniel Bochner took to the ice to explain the process of teaching players how to attack downhill from high in the offensive zone. He began the on-ice session with a simple drill in which players start near the offensive zone faceoff dot, skate up to the blue line, receive a pass and curl downhill for a shot on net. He outlined key details, like shoulder-checking on the way up to the blue line to scan the ice and turning to face the net while receiving the pass rather than looking directly at the teammate making the pass.
