Summary
Dylan Larkin says he's done playing for the Red Wings, and Detroit has suspended him without pay. This Detroit Red Wings podcast emergency episode tackles the resulting Red Wings trade rumors, Shawn Horcoff's press conference and Larkin's 10-team list. (00:00) - Intro & Jamie Daniels Fundraiser Inspired by "Hellebucks", we've launched "DylanDough.com" (or "LarkinBucks.com", we're not picky) to count the roughly $41,000 a day Larkin is giving up. The goal: raise one day of his salary for the Jamie Daniels Foundation. (03:45) - Dylan Larkin Suspension Reaction Agent Pat Brisson's statement and the Red Wings' suspension set the scene, as we compare Larkin's move to Connor Hellebuyck's holdout in Winnipeg. The guys also find a silver lining for Detroit: a healthier player, the distraction out of the room, better draft lottery odds, and Emmitt Finnie as the true number one center. (21:35) - Shawn Horcoff Press Conference Horcoff says Detroit has talked to teams on and off Larkin's 10-team list, will consider futures, and is prepared to wait as long as it takes for the right deal. With every team on that list a contender, the list might really be one or two teams deep. (29:25) - Trade Timeline Predictions The holdout could get other teams calling, and Larkin's $8.7 million cap hit isn't adjusted like Hellebuyck's since he was at training camp. All three hosts lean 60-40 that he ends up with a team outside his list, with Montreal or Buffalo as the pick. --- WWP Night at the LCA dates announced!
